DiskPiano Piano Compatibility
DiskPiano is designed for Yamaha Disklavier first and foremost — the main self-playing piano system in the industry. We also support PianoDisc, QRS, and most MIDI-capable digital pianos and keyboards.
Any Disklavier with a MIDI IN port works — including first-generation Mark I units such as MX100A/B, DKW10 wagon, and DKC5R (MX80 / MX95). Connect with a USB-MIDI cable or a Bluetooth-MIDI adapter such as the Yamaha MD-BT01 or CME WIDI Master. The controller name is usually printed on the front of the display (Mark IV uses a tablet remote). Need setup help? See FAQ or return to the connection guide.
Yamaha Disklavier
Every generation below lists Bluetooth MIDI as an upgrade path and works with DiskPiano. Search this page for your controller or piano model number.
Mark I
First generation. Plays E-SEQ from floppy disks; accepts standard MIDI through MIDI IN (USB-MIDI or Bluetooth-MIDI adapter).
- • MX100A / MX100B — Built-in Mark I controllers
- • DKW10 — Wagon Grand / DGP
- • DKC5R — MX80, MX95
Mark II
Some MX100II / MPX100II / HQ100 / DKC100R units play only E-SEQ from floppy, but still accept MIDI on the MIDI IN port.
- • MX100II — MPX100II, HQ100
- • DKC100R — DGPII, DG1FII, DG2FII, DC7FIIW, DGH1BII

Mark IV / Mark IV PRO
Identified by the PDA- or tablet-style remote, not a label on the front of a floppy controller.
- • Mark IV / PRO — DA1M4, DGC1M4, DC1M4, DC2M4, DC3M4, DC3M4t, DC5M4, DC5M4t, DC6M4, DC6M4t, DC7M4, DC7M4t, DC3M4 PRO, DC5M4 PRO, DC6M4 PRO, DC7M4 PRO, DS4M4 PRO, DS6M4 PRO, DCF3SM4 PRO, DCFIIISM4 PRO, DCFXM4 PRO

ENSPIRE / DKC-900

- • ENSPIRE CL — DGB1K ENCL (playback only)
- • ENSPIRE ST — DGB1K ENST, DGCB ENST, DGC1 ENST, DGC2 ENST, DC1X ENST, DC2X ENST, DU1 ENST, DYUS1 ENST

Upgrade / retrofit units
- • DSR1 — Upgrade unit for Mark I and Mark II
- • DKC-850 — Replacement or add-on for Mark II XG and Mark III controllers (and MIDI-cable add-on for some Mark II DKC100R / MX100II / DKC100XG systems)
- • DCD-1 / DCD1+PS — CD add-on for Mark I, Mark II, and Mark II XG — connect DiskPiano to the piano MIDI IN, not as a standalone piano
Early Mark I units (MX100A/B, DKW10) may need a floppy disk inserted to finish booting before MIDI IN works — or power on while holding the MIDI and REC buttons. DKC5R (MX80 / MX95) does not have that floppy-boot requirement.
